The health team of Humanity First Nigeria has performed 20 surgical procedures worth over 6 million Naira during a 3 day free health delivery program held at Majoda Community Primary health care Centre Eredo Epe LCDA Lagos State between 26th and 28th August 2022.
The free health delivery which was supported by Humanity First Canada, featured other services like, Malaria testing and treatment, optical interventions (providing free eye-glasses) and testing and treatment of minor health issues like diabetes and hypertension as presented by the patients, over 500 patients were treated in the three-day event while over 80 eye glasses were provided to deserving patients.
A major highlight of the surgical intervention was the successful surgery given to a 71 year old man who has been carrying a 23cm lump in his private part for over 40 years which was done by a team of two Medical Doctors, and Nurses who worked for over 3 hours
The Chairman of the LCDA Alhaji Ismail Monsuru Akinloye during his inspection of the program thanked Humanity First for finding his community worthy of hosting such a monumental program, also speaking at the event the supervisor for health in the LCDA who also performed an on the spot assessment of the event praised the efforts of both HFN and Humanity First Canada
The team lead of HFN global health team Dr Sanni Taofik who coordinated the event expressed his thanks to the volunteers made up of 7 Medical doctors, 2 optometrists,15 Nurses, 6 Pharmacists, 6 Medical lab technologists and other volunteers for their efforts in ensuring the success of the event.
The General Secretary of HFN Alhaji Dauda Raji thanked the inhabitants of the LCDA especially the Chairman and the authorities of the Health center whom he called great hosts
The event ended with an interactive session between the Chairman of the LCDA and the volunteers.
