Sharing Eid: HFN Brings Celebration to Over 3,000 Nigerian Families

Eid al-Adha is a time of joy, sacrifice, and sharing—but for many vulnerable families across Nigeria, celebrating can be a challenge. This year, Humanity First Nigeria (HFN), with the generous support of Humanity First Canada, ensured that thousands of families were not left behind. Recognizing the importance of inclusion during festive periods, HFN set aside special funds to support those in difficult circumstances. The organization’s Disaster Relief and Programs Team mobilized swiftly, identifying communities across the country where people were most in need. From Mokwa to Maiduguri, Kano, Azare, and Abuja, HFN volunteers went door-to-door, distributing meat and essential food items. Their mission was simple: to restore a sense of dignity and celebration to families facing hardship. The outreach didn’t stop in the north. In the southwest, residents in Abeokuta, Ikorodu, Meiran, and Akinyele-Ibadan also received support. Volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure that no one was left out, embodying the spirit of Eid by giving selflessly and uplifting others. In total, 9 cows and 8 sheep were sacrificed as part of this year’s initiative. The meat was distributed to over 3,235 individuals, helping them share in the blessings of the season despite their difficult circumstances. Speaking on the impact of the effort, Abdul-Qadir Abdul-Rafi, head of the Disaster Relief and Programs Team, noted: “Eid is about compassion and community. Our goal was to bring that spirit to people who may otherwise have gone unnoticed. We are grateful to Humanity First Canada for making this possible.” Many of the beneficiaries appreciated the efforts of Humanity first and prayed for the donors saying that the meat distributed would go a long way in providing the needed support during Eid
HFN Distributes 29,000 Meals in Maiduguri

In a bid to support Muslim Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) living in El-Miskin Camp, Jere Local Government Area, Maiduguri Metropolis, Borno State, North-East Nigeria, Humanity First, in collaboration with Humanity First Germany and Canada, has provided over 29,000 meals to the IDPs. The program was designed to assist Muslim faithfuls observing their fasts during the month of Ramadan under challenging circumstances. The Camp Chairman Muhammad Hashim expressed appreciation for Humanity First Nigeria’s efforts, noting that the camp houses over 7,000 individuals from more than 1,500 families, divided across 21 districts. One of the camp residents, Bukar Bulama, shared that he fled Mungonu LGA over eight years ago due to insurgency. Despite his desire to return home and resume farming, the area remains insecure. He noted that life in the camp became even more difficult last year when it was hit by devastating floods. “I am grateful to Humanity First for providing Iftar meals during Ramadan. It has been a great relief to us. However, we still face challenges, especially with accessing clean water,” Bukar appealed. His sentiments were echoed by other camp residents who also appreciated the continued support of Humanity First. Speaking on behalf of Humanity First Nigeria, Mr. AbdulQadir, the Team Lead for DisasterRelief, stated that the provision of food to victims of floods and terrorism in El-Miskin Camp aligns with the organization’s culture of prioritizing human welfare, regardless of ethnic or religious background. He further explained that the current meal distribution is the second phase of efforts to support the victims in Maiduguri, with the first phase conducted in September 2024, immediately after the flood disaster. “Humanity First has been supporting victims of disasters all over the world, and this year we are proudly celebrating 30 years of serving mankind,” Mr. AbdulQadir added. Through consistent efforts like these, Humanity First continues to bring hope and relief to communities torn apart by conflict and natural disasters. @top fans Abdul Qadri OlanrewajuHumanity First DeutschlandHumanity First FranceHumanity First South AfricaMajlis Ansarullah Ahmadiyya, NigeriaMajlis KhuddamHumanity First USAHumanity First InternationalHumanity First UKHumanity First Norge#Ramadan +12
